Since me and Corina have started our social media page we decided we had to find the main font for our short film ASAP! In my previous experiences of editing, I would have to search for fonts that had the perfect vibe i was looking for. The website that was most helpful and easy to use/access was DaFont.com . We decided that we would use this website to find our font! We decided we wanted like a school type of font so I decided to look through the categories that the website provides to help users find specific types of fonts easily:
We clicked on the category of "old school" fonts to see if any of them stood out to us.

These two gave a vintage old school vibe that we were looking for but we could not decide if we wanted it to be only bold or have an outline. We definitely kept these options up there. I also looked at a more eroded old school font that didn't really stand out to me but i added it to our list fo options I don't know if i want that faded/eroded style for the font because it makes it look less modern in my opinion. Corina and I decided to keep on searching to try and see if there are more fonts that might fit our vibe better!
Then I decided to look through the "distorted category". This was a categoryI feel like I am pretty familiar with because i used to look through it often when I used to edit back then. I would use it the most about 3 years ago! So we skimmed through them!
I choose the distorted category because i feel like i want this short film to be very silly. I think a messy sort of random font would fit in perfectly to the tone we are trying to bring to our short film while also standing out to show our title. I choose those first two because they give that schoolish vibe but in a messier, sillier way I feel. The first one, Soopafresh, is bold and looks close to the varsity solid font but with titled letters that make it look relatable almost. The second font I choose, Linographer, looks like a students handwriting. It give that natural journal/school vibe but I feel like it gives too much horror genre instead of a silly comedy vibe so I am not really sure about that one. The last one, Banana Stick, is less distored and schoolish, but I feel like its a staple basic bold font that could be able to stand out on a poster/logo.
These fonts are all contenders for our films font but next week we will be cutting down some options and finding our final choice! We should also be finishing our logo and finding the color of our logo/font for this film next week!
